It has been our pleasure to cover and chronicle so much of the premier young basketball talent that emanates from this city the last 12 years. Among the best is Marshall's Darius Smith. He's a senior and he's going to the University of Connecticut. This we all know. But today we got a chance to check out this sensational home-grown Chicago talent up-close and personal. We met his wonderful mother and watched him sign his letter of intent. After that he took us up to the main gym and put on a dazzling show. We couldn't get him to stop! That's why UConn is blessed to have among it's core this blossoming basketball talent but more importantly this gentleman.
